Welp I don’t know how it’s the holidays already, but here we are. Before I go into what I did for my tree and annual ornament adventure for 2022, I thought it would be fun to do another recap of all the trees I’ve done so far.

The last time I did a recap was in 2016, so click on this post to see the first 10 years!! (2006-2016).

Ok, so now let’s start with 2017. I was totally inspired by Alessandro Michele’s alien motifs for Gucci, and just feeling a bit irreverent. It was also the first time had a tree that wasn’t white (although 2011 I did have a real pine tree for my place in Solana Beach, but I still had my white tree at my Irvine home)

2018 : I was totally feeling some Post Modern / Memphis Milano inspiration and went with a red tree and pink geometric shaped ornaments, recycling some from my 2015 tree.

2019: I would never say I’m a traditionalist when it comes to holiday decor. Every year, I always seem to flip between doing something fun or more edge-y versus something more elegant or just more sophisticated. For 2019 I flipped from Post Modern in 2018 to going for more mid century / brass colored / brutalist / Mexican folk art vibes.

2020: Well… what can you say about 2020. By the time it was December, all I wanted was pure fantasy, so I splurged on a pink tree and went for full floral fantasy.

2021: And now we’re up to last year’s tree- my inspiration was psychadelic “out of this world” cosmic Christmas. The tree also included a little homage to Interplanet Janet (If you know you know).
So now you’re all caught up. Any guesses to this year’s tree theme?… stay tuned…
