This post is in partnership with Hotel Theodore
Things have been quite heated 🔥 (temperature-wise) here in So Cal as summer draws to an end. Which was why I jumped at a recent opportunity to head up north to Seattle. I was so ready to take in some cooler temperatures, while also getting a chance to experience an even cooler hotel!
The Hotel Theodore, conveniently located in the heart of downtown Seattle, actually got its start as the Hotel Roosevelt (the original neon sign still stands above the building). It was opened in 1930 and in 2016, Provenance Hotels purchased it and transformed it to become Hotel Theodore (taking the new name inspiration from President Theodore Roosevelt).
Upon entering the lobby, you can’t help but be taken in by the glamorous art-deco inspired decor. There’s a definite masculine touch, with deep blues and warm leather finishes, however, it doesn’t feel stuffy or uninviting.
There are also little elements of subtle humor and quirky-ness. The large murals that adorn the main walls at first appear like an enlarged period style etching, but then at a second look, you realize that it’s anything but old fashioned! They were done by local artist Olivia Knapp.
There are 153 rooms with several suites available, and if you want to go super fancy, there’s also a penthouse, which I was lucky to get a tour of.
OMG. Seriously. I’m ready to move in. like, now. The Penthouse can be used as a temporary residence, but you can also rent it for private functions. There were three patios, all with amazing views, and one even has a hot tub!!
As for the rest of the rooms for us common folk, lol, do not fear – Hotel Theodore has created sophisticated retreats to relax and recharge. What struck me were all the details, starting with the stunning hexagon door knockers.
I was really impressed with how well the room decor seamlessly blended rustic with refined, but also paying homage to the hotel’s past, yet still offering everything you need for the modern day traveler.
The bathroom features luxurious amenities from Lather.
And when you’re hungry, Hotel Theodore is also home to the delicious rustic-chic Rider. Rider sources everything regionally, and they even make their own bacon! Here’s a shot of what I had for breakfast, bread pudding french toast…
I KNOW… 😍😋
Anyway- If you find yourself looking for accommodations in Seattle, definitely give Hotel Theodore a look. And even if you don’t end up staying there, definitely grab a bite at Rider, or pick up a latte at MADE coffee, also located inside.
I want to thank the staff at Hotel Theodore for all their hospitality. Again, it’s their attention to detail that makes Hotel Theodore a gem in the Emerald City (pun intended) 😜
