One of the earliest posts I did when I started this blog was on a wonderful book about the work of Swedish artist and designer, Olle Eksell.
His simple and playful illustrations capture a joyful spirit that has inspired generations. Needless to say, I was super excited to hear that Ikea has now launched a capsule collection showcasing Olle Eksell’s work, called Önskedröm.
The collection is explores several motifs: there’s a series of silly and kooky bird creatures, including birds as hippies and some fantasy plants, and then there’s a whole graphic group that includes colorful matches, cityscapes, and candles.
The collection includes everything from pillows and textiles, to clocks, rugs, trays, and small prints.
The Önskedröm collection is in stores now! Have you seen it at your local IKEA? See anything you like? What are your favorites?
