As much as I love living in California, there are times that I wish I could just hop over to NYC for a quick visual pick me up!
For example, I so wish I could visit this pop up exhibit called “An Uncommon Vision” for the great Alexander Girard, put together by Herman Miller to coincide with NYC Design Week.
The public exhibit celebrates Girard’s life and extensive career work. It includes a big selection of archived designs and ephemera curated by the Girard family. In partnership with Maharam, the exhibit also shows recently re-issued pieces, such as some his famous screen-printed panels, woven textiles and even a few furniture pieces as well.
I’ve already seen a few of amazing shots on Instagram from friends who have already visited the exhibit. If you’re in NYC, this is definitely a MUST SEE! (plus they have coffee from SoHo’s La Colombe!)
More info and images here.
The exhibit is at 446 West 14th Street and will be up until May 28 ,2014. 11am-6pm daily.
