…And then it’s September!? Where did Summer go?! Well, it’s been unusually hot and humid here in SoCal. (bleah.) While I do enjoy warm climates, I’m definitely looking forward to cooler days and the all the new changes that Fall brings. Weather has such an interesting affect on people and Marimekko’s Weather Diary collection was inspired by just that. Marimekko collaborated with designer Aino-Maija Metsola and created a stunning collection of fabrics, tableware, textiles all revolving around the phenomena of weather and it’s visual cues and moods it evokes.
Over the weekend, Marimekko posted a ton of “behind the scenes” images that show sketches, photo references, and initial watercolor explorations. I seriously need every piece!
