As previously mentioned, JCPenney has been doing a lot of changes, particularly in their home goods department. Despite the recent operational dramas, it appears that “JCP” is still moving forward with the launching of new product lines and in-store shops that were already in motion. I already posted about the Jonathan Adler “Happy Chic” shop, but another one that I’ve been looking forward to is the Design by Conran collection.
Sir Terrance Conran is a legend and the Conran Shop has long been a design mecca. With this new collection, Terrance Conran is taking his incredible aesthetic and leading a team from his company to create an exclusive collection of furniture, lighting, and accessories that will only be available at JC Penney stores.
Below is a video describing the collection:
Here are a few lookbook images for this collection,
as well as what the new in-store concept looks like:

I’ve been eagerly looking forward to see the new in-store shops installed and last night I checked my local JCP and OMG! They were up!
The Design by Conran area is centered around the furniture collection. The accessories and lighting were mixed in settings
and also placed in the shelving units. I loved the graphic grey/royal blue color scheme.
Also loved this modern nesting coffee table and stackable tray set in this vignette.
UPDATE: While the Design by Conran in-store shop had more emphasis on the furniture pieces, the Happy Chic by Jonathan Adler collection was set up more like the look of his existing free standing stores. It was located up front and center and was the first thing you saw as you entered the home goods department at the location I saw. There were two sides and each side had a different color story.
Then there was a separate area down the ways a bit that had the other larger furniture pieces, including a couch, dining set, and desk.
Check out the entire Design by Conran at JCP collection here. See anything you like? Have you checked out the new JCP?
