One of the most amazing sights on the Big Island of Hawaii is the volcano and surrounding black lava fields. The fact that lava continues to flow out and grow the island is such a powerful reminder that we are truly on a living planet. I’m always so enchanted by the natural contrast of the vivid colors that abound on the islands. Here are a few snaps I took along the way to visiting the Jagger Museum at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and a few afterwards while at the gorgeous black sand beach of Punaluʻu.
