I am a huge fan of the work of photographer Carl Kleiner and stylist Evelina Bratell. Their collaborations of graphic food presentations is pure art. Here’s some of the commercials they did for IKEA I posted about last year. In 2010, IKEA came out with a “Homemade is Best” cook book, but it was only available in Europe. Well, you can imagine my surprise when I happened to see a nice display of this new book “FIKA” while grabbing a cinnamon roll checking out the food section last week!
FIKA looks to be essentially the American version of the original “Homemade is Best”. All the measurements have been converted, and obviously it’s all in English. There are 30 classic Swedish baking recipes, with all the simple ingredients beautifully laid out in the way that only Carl and Evelina can! And, it’s only $7.99! I haven’t found it on the IKEA website yet, but it’s definitely in stores if you have one near you.
