Do you have your Christmas tree up yet? Or are you like me, where the answer would be… uh… no. It’s become somewhat of a tradition here at HM that I craft up some sort of decoration. This year however, I have no idea what I’m going to do. Anyway I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane to see what Christmas has been like over the years here on the blog. (I’m hoping seeing where I’ve been can help with inspiration on where to go!) In the meantime, let’s go waaaaaaaaaay back to good ol’ 2006…
That year I decided to forgo the traditional tree and just use a vase with some branches instead. It was an easy solution and added a fresh jolt of color, and looked great in the window.
2007 marked a departure and I returned to a more traditional tree. However, I went with a very untraditional color scheme.
2007 was the year of the “spray paint bandits” where I was a bit obsessed with spraying everything and anything a matte white. Old ornaments included. I really enjoyed the results, and also loved the hit of gold. It kind of kept the tree from losing too much holiday spirit. This tree would set the tone for the next three year’s trees, which we’ll revisit tomorrow! Do you always use the same ornaments each year or do you add new ones? Or do you have a different tree each year? What are you doing this year?
