Picked up this vintage issue of Better Homes and Gardens, circa January 1967 over the weekend at an estate sale. Look at that crazy pinkalicious cover! The issue had an awesome section on color schemes, and this purple, pink, and red combo was one of the highlights.
I am totally loving that rug!! I could see this as fun inspiration for a summer party or to liven up a drab eating nook. I love the idea of painting the rattan chairs and table a glossy red, adding purple cushions and fuchsia table cloth. I’d keep the wood banquette, but maybe leave the walls white. Adding in a graphic painting or poster that picks up on the pinks and purples could be a nice update. Can you believe the issue used to only be 29¢?! I’ll share some more of the great color schemes they featured in a future post.
