bruxie waffle

I haven’t done a food post here in awhile- (but that surely doesn’t mean I haven’t been eating! hehe) Last weekend I went with a friend to check out the newly opened Bruxie Waffle in Old Town Orange. Basically, they make waffle sandwiches (so instead of bread, it’s a waffle)- I know- just the sound of it is making my mouth water… (more)And what kind of sandwiches do you ask? well, golly- just about every kind!! They have all kinds of savory ones-  from Peanut butter and Jelly to Prosciutto & Gruyere, to Bacon, Egg & Cheddar to wild mushroom and arugula. We ended up getting the Buttermilk fried chicken waffle and the Smoked Salmon with dill cream and cucumber.

yeah. YUMMY!!! it tasted as good as it looked. The chicken was lovely crispy on the outside, and so tender on the inside, plus it had this lovely honey coleslaw mixed in. The salmon was good too- different flavor but just as tasty. We didn’t even get a chance to try any of the amazing looking sweet variations. That will be for the next trip! Bruxie is a “order at the counter” type stand. Kind of like an old school burger shack. There isn’t a whole lot of seating, and be prepared for a line- but the food was definitely delicious. A must go-to if you are checking out Old Town Orange any time soon (which i highly recommend anyway- all the vintage antique malls alone are reason enough, but the whole area is charming and filled with fun places!) NOTE: Bruxie isn’t actually located in the “circle” – it’s down the street just a block (really short walk) on Glassell. More info on Bruxie, check out their site.
